Wellness Escape in Mexico: Yoga, Ceremony, and Jungle Villa Living

The week kicks off on Saturday afternoon with check-in, a property tour, dinner, and an opening ceremony designed to set the tone for the days ahead. From Sunday through Friday, the daily rhythm is consistent: sunrise yoga at 7:45 AM, breakfast at 9, a late-morning workshop or excursion, lunch, free time until the late afternoon, and then sunset yoga before dinner. Evenings often include a ritual or ceremony—the opening night has a burning ceremony, and other nights feature sound healing, om chanting, a dharma talk, and a closing ceremony on the final evening.

What makes this retreat different from a standard all-inclusive wellness package is the breadth of the teaching team. Instead of one or two yoga teachers, there's a full wellness staff with over 150 years of combined experience. You'll practice with teachers who specialize in different styles—from Rocket and Ashtanga to Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin, and Restorative. Each instructor brings their own approach, so you get exposed to a variety of methods rather than just one style for eight days straight.

The retreat also puts a strong emphasis on integration and connecting with other people. There are guided excursions—snorkeling at Los Arcos National Marine Park, where you'll see rock formations and marine life, and a hike to Quimixto Waterfall, where you can swim in the pool at the base. The included workshops on breathwork, yoga philosophy, and chakras are practical, meant to give you tools to take home. Sunday includes a ritual called Sangha Namaste, which is an introduction to the group, and the sound healing and om chanting evenings are group experiences that tend to bring people closer together.
