Wellness Reset in Jamaica: Pilates, Yoga & Bodywork at Round Hill

Jamaica · 7 days

Round Hill sits on a hillside above Montego Bay, and the wellness programme is woven into a normal resort stay rather than running as a separate retreat with a fixed schedule. Practitioners are on site November 2024 to April 2025. You book sessions individually — private one-on-ones are encouraged, and daily group classes are also available if you'd rather join something at a set time.

A typical private session might be the hour-long 'Daily Practices for Optimal Vitality', which starts with lymphatic activation and coherence breathing and moves into dynamic movement work for strength, balance and mental clarity. Another option is the morning routine session: gratitude, intention setting, harmonising breath work and gentle lymph stimulation, followed by an asana practice tailored to you. That one can be booked in the morning for an energising start or early evening for recalibration. There are also additional offerings like a Classical Led Primary Series and 'From Root to Crown – An Introduction to Pranayama'.

The practitioners are the reason this isn't just a resort spa menu. Laure Seguin spent over 20 years working with plastic surgeons in France and trained at the Dr. Vodder International School before bringing her manual lymphatic drainage and facial work to New York. Julia Udine is a Broadway actress and certified Pilates instructor with 600+ hours of training through Erika Bloom, working with clients including those with injuries, pre/postnatal needs and rehabilitation goals. Claire Berngartt combines neuroscience-focused Pilates, breath work, meditation and yoga with The Oov®, and holds 500+ hours of BASI Pilates Dance Specialization plus advanced training in somatics, Ayurveda and neuro-breathwork. Brigitte Alcantara created The Body Alchemy Method and brings 25 years of Pilates and fascial stretch therapy. Caroline Alboneti is a naturopath and Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner specialising in Qi Gong, Reiki and rejuvenation acupuncture.

Between sessions you have the run of the resort. There's an organic garden that supplies the restaurants — herbs and vegetables go straight into the meals. The spa uses Kate McLeod and iota products. You can swim in the pool or the ocean, or take one of the peaceful paths for a walk. The natural setting is a big part of why this partnership makes sense: sun, salt water and time outdoors are part of the experience, not an afterthought.

The programme is flexible by design. You're not locked into a group itinerary, so you can do three sessions in a week or one a day, depending on what you want out of the trip. That makes it work equally well for someone who wants a structured reset and someone who mainly wants a beach holiday with proper bodywork on the side.
