Home › Retreats › Wellness Retreat in the Algarve: Daily Yoga and Plant-Based Dining
Portugal · 5 days · From USD 3799
The retreat is hosted by Dr. Liz Lindh, who founded Lakshmi Rising after running The Sanctuary at Two Rivers in Costa Rica for a decade. She teaches in the vinyasa lineage of Sri Krishnamacharya, and her style blends classical yoga with insights from her background as a Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Classes are held in an outdoor shala with ocean views, and the teaching is known for being thorough and caring.
Each day follows a gentle rhythm: sunrise meditation and chanting, a 90-minute vinyasa class, then breakfast. After that, you're free to join the teacher training workshops or go off on your own. Afternoons might include an Ayurveda lecture or a hike, and evenings wind down with a philosophy discussion or dinner on the terrace. Saturdays are excursion days, with group trips to the Seven Hanging Valleys trail or wine tastings at local vineyards.
The villa, Monte Sobradhino, is the heart of the experience. You'll stay in one of six rooms, each with access to shared terraces, the saltwater infinity pool, and peaceful gardens. The property is designed for relaxation, with sunlit yoga spaces and cozy lounges where you can read between sessions. It's the kind of place where you can truly switch off, but the proximity to Loulé means you're never far from the culture of the Algarve.
