Home › Retreats › Wellness Week at Kimpton Grand Roatán: Fitness, Yoga and Sound Baths on the Beach
Honduras · 6 days · From EUR 25
Days start early. On the sample schedule, the first session lands at 7:30am — either journaling and mindfulness in the Orquidea Ballroom or a Hatha yoga class — and the morning runs through until around midday with back-to-back classes. A typical morning might be a 45-minute Movement Reset with mini loop bands and joint mobility work on The Enah Deck, then Pilates Boot Camp, then Full Body Strength in the ballroom. Afternoons are lighter: a cold plunge workshop, a spa session, a community project, or a pool Pilates class at 5pm. Evenings are workshops and sound baths rather than parties — the floating sound bath runs 8–9pm in the main pool, with guests arriving at 7:30pm and wearing sound-block headsets while floating under the sky.
What separates this from a standard resort wellness week is the practitioner line-up and the Global Wellness Day tie-in. Dr Rob Williams, Head of Education at Nordic Wellness, runs the breathwork and cold immersion sessions and gives participants a free month on the Nordic Flow app. Patrick Frost is a former Nike Master Trainer and founding trainer at Barry's Bootcamp. Starr Hawkins trains clients in pre- and post-pregnancy fitness and teaches the Pilates sessions, including the pool and beach versions. Louis Lopez runs the TRX Strength Camps. Kaisha Solomon, a Roatán-based certified yoga instructor, leads the yoga and journaling sessions. Aroa Gomez runs the floating sound bath.
The location is the other draw. West Bay Beach is on Roatán's west coast, with the coral reef of the Roatán Marine Park a short swim from shore. Day three includes a breath-hold meditation session followed by a guided snorkel through the reef with West Bay Divers — a 30-minute primer on breath-holding basics, then into the water. The beach cleanup on Global Wellness Day happens on the same stretch of sand.
Global Wellness Day falls on the Saturday of the retreat. All sessions that day are free to attend but need booking in advance, and the day includes yoga on the Grand Deck, a bodyweight strength class with animal flow, an aqua balance challenge in the Drop Off Pool (six attendees at a time), the beach cleanup, a crystal energy workshop, a digital detox talk, and a social hour with wellness cocktails and mocktails on The Enah Deck. The evening closes with a talk by Steve Elkins, the Emmy-winning cinematographer who discovered the Lost City of the Monkey God in Honduras using lidar.
The retreat finishes on the final morning with a Hatha yoga class at 7:30am and a closing circle at 9am in the third-floor Wellness Lounge, led by all the wellness providers. The 2027 programme is still being finalised; the schedule above is the sample itinerary the resort has published, and sessions, instructors and times are subject to change.
