Cyprus · 4 days · From USD 540
This is the world's first puppy yoga retreat, and it's built around a simple idea: combining the calming effects of yoga with the joy of spending time with rescue puppies. Ines, the host, is a yoga teacher with over 1,300 hours of training in India, Munich, and Corfu, and she's spent years fostering dogs from animal welfare organizations. The puppies live freely on the property, moving between the garden, terrace, and communal areas. There's no pressure to interact with them—they just become part of your stay.
The daily schedule is relaxed but structured. Mornings start with a vinyasa class (energizing, flowing), followed by a hearty vegan brunch. Afternoons are free for exploring—you can hike to Avakas Gorge, visit a beach, or simply hang out with the puppies. The late afternoon session is slower—yin or hatha style, or a meditation—and the puppies often wander through. This is the perfect time to practice letting go of expectations and just being present.
What makes this retreat different from a standard yoga holiday is the rescue element. Ines works with local shelters to give puppies a safe space to socialize and prepare for their forever homes. Your stay directly supports this work. Guests often find this adds a layer of meaning to their trip—knowing they're not just relaxing, but also helping animals in need. As one guest put it, 'You can really feel how all the dogs are living their best life in her care.'
The location in Peyia, Paphos, is breathtaking. The villa is set in the hills, with the Akamas National Forest Park nearby. The area is known for its natural beauty, including sea caves, waterfalls, and pristine beaches. Winters are mild and sunny, which is why the retreat runs year-round. The nearest airport is Paphos International (about 40 minutes by taxi), though you can also fly into Larnaca (about 90 minutes away).
Ines is known for her warm, genuine hosting style and her ability to create a space where guests feel at home. Reviews consistently mention her attention to detail—the homemade welcome cake, the little gift box with a journal, incense, and a pen, and the way she remembers everyone's preferences. Whether you're a seasoned yogi or a complete beginner, you'll leave feeling lighter, calmer, and maybe even inspired to support rescue work in your own life.
