Home › Retreats › Wild Wellbeing: Yoga, Hiking and Ocean Adventure on a Private Island Archipelago
Europe · 7 days
Days here follow a loose rhythm rather than a fixed timetable. You might start with yoga overlooking the Pacific, eat breakfast from the gardens, then choose between a hike on the Vista Ridge Trail, a session in the Tree House Gym, or time in the water. Afternoons can be spent diving the reefs, kayaking, paddleboarding, surfing or riding a Seabob across open water. In season, guides lead trips to find humpback whales — these are the only waters on Earth shared by two separate migrating populations.
The island itself does a lot of the work. It is 20 miles from everything, with no televisions and no news. Nights are dark enough (Bortle class 1 to 3) that the Milky Way's core is visible to the naked eye. Sleep tends to come easily, with just the sound of the sea.
Restoration is not confined to the spa. You can bathe in the forest under a canopy alive with birdsong, or take a copper bath at the Secascent Spa between treatments. The spa, enclosed by jungle, offers fragrant massages, sound baths and restorative rituals. Birdsong replaces background music, and the forest is part of every treatment.
There is also a conservation angle if you want it. Guests can join the work that keeps the reserve wild — photographing whale flukes or logging bird sightings. It is optional, but it is one of the things that makes this place different from a standard island resort.
Back at your Casita, the Secascent Mixology Box lets you blend your own bathing scents, with a recipe booklet suggesting combinations from energising to unwinding. It is a small thing, but it turns a simple bath into something you made yourself.
The week is not a bootcamp. It is a chance to move in a place that makes movement feel different — in the canopy, on the trail, in the water — and then to stop.
