Home › Retreats › Women's Wellness Weekend: Yoga, Nature & Creative Connection in Rural Illinois
United States · 3 days · From USD 142
The 'Just Be' retreat is hosted by Diane Rawlinson, an experienced yoga teacher and retired dance educator with over 40 years in movement practices. Her approach blends alignment-based yoga, somatics, and restorative practices, and she has been a certified InterPlay leader for over 30 years. This is the 8th time she has hosted this retreat, and each gathering is unique, shaped by the women who attend.
The property is a charming 1880s farmhouse with a large community great room, dining spaces, and a kitchen. It sits on 40 acres of native prairie with a creek, ancient trees, and a lush organic garden. There are well-maintained paths for walks, and the grounds are ideal for stargazing, campfires, and yard games. The interior includes shared bathrooms and a mix of private and shared rooms, with comfortable common areas for relaxation and group activities.
The weekend schedule is a balance of structured activities and free time. Yoga sessions are held daily, including flow and alignment classes and evening restorative sessions. InterPlay practices encourage movement, storytelling, and community connection. There are also dedicated times for creative writing and journaling, community sharing, and personal reflection. Evenings may include campfires and stargazing, weather permitting.
Most participants attend alone, and the atmosphere is welcoming to solo travelers. The retreat is open to all ages (previous retreats had guests from 19 to 67) and all yoga levels. While it's a women-only offering, it is not labeled as a sober retreat, though alcohol is not provided. The focus is on authentic connection, relaxation, and creative exploration.
