Marrakech · 5 days · From USD 850
The five days are built around two yoga practices a day — one in the morning, one in the late afternoon or early evening — held on the riad's rooftop terrace overlooking the Medina. Between sessions you're free to walk into the old town: the souks, the tanneries, the Bahia Palace, Jemaa el-Fnaa in the evening. The hosts help with directions and suggestions, and there's cultural input built into the days rather than leaving you to figure the city out alone. Meals are traditional Moroccan food served at the riad, and the pace leaves room to sit in the courtyard with mint tea if you'd rather not go anywhere at all.
The retreat is run by NOSADE, a family business based in Marrakech, who also own the riad where you stay and lead separately-booked Sahara desert trips. Groups are small because the riad only has three rooms, so this isn't a big organised retreat — it's a handful of people sharing a house for a few days. The hosts, Anica and Yidir, are named in guest reviews and handle questions and special requests directly, which makes the whole thing feel more like staying with people who know the city than attending an event.
Because the property is in the Medina, you're within walking distance of the main sights, but it also means early-morning calls to prayer, narrow alleyways and no car access to the door — the hosts arrange transfers and help with luggage. The rooftop, where yoga happens, looks out over the rooftops of the old town, and sessions are timed to catch the cooler parts of the day.
What separates this from other Moroccan yoga trips is that it's genuinely short and city-based. You don't travel out to the desert or spend days in transit; you're in Marrakech the whole time, with yoga as a structure around which you explore. It suits people who want a first taste of Morocco and are happy in a small guesthouse rather than a hotel.
