Yin Yoga Immersion and Certification in Tulum's Tranquil Setting

Yin Yoga Immersion and Certification in Tulum's Tranquil Setting

Mexico · 5 days · From USD 1728

The training is structured around the seven archetypal yin poses — each one representing a different theme or aspect of human experience — and the many variations that make each shape accessible to different bodies. You'll learn the difference between aesthetic alignment (how a pose looks) and functional alignment (how your unique skeleton actually moves), study the principles of stretching and compression in asanas, and explore the relationship between meridians and yin. The teaching follows Paul Grilley's approach, so props are limited to blocks and straps — no bolsters — and poses are held for three to five minutes at a time, giving connective tissue and joints time to release.

The schedule balances theory and practice each day. Expect around three yoga sessions daily, scattered through the morning and afternoon, with lectures woven in between. Tugba teaches with a mix of precision and warmth; she's known for breaking down complex ideas clearly and for making the intensity of long-hold yin feel manageable. Group sizes in Tulum vary with the season — sometimes as small as one or two people, so you might get near-private instruction. The intimacy is actually a plus if you want detailed feedback on your own practice.

Accommodation is at Central Park Lagunas, a self-catering apartment complex a few kilometres from the Tulum ruins and about 2.5 km from the bus station. It has a pool, garden, fitness centre and restaurant, and each unit comes with a kitchenette, private bathroom, and air conditioning. Meals are served at a nearby restaurant, and you'll enjoy breakfasts like Mexican-style omelettes and dinners of rice, legumes and fresh vegetables — simple, filling fuel for a practice-heavy week. Note that the property may change depending on group numbers, but Fitflowyoga always aims for well-reviewed, safe spots for solo travellers.

The location itself is a big part of the experience. Tulum pulls in travellers from everywhere, and between sessions you can wander into town for tacos, swim in a cenote, or watch the sunset from the beach. But the training is the focus — come ready to study, rest, and show up. It's a certified programme, so full attendance is mandatory if you want the certificate. Past participants consistently rate it highly for the quality of teaching, the food, and the balance of work and downtime.
