Yoga and Art by the Sea: Four Days on the Cap d'Antibes

Antibes · 4 days · From EUR 1650

Days start with breathwork and meditation followed by a full practice of about 90 minutes, held facing the sea on the Cap d'Antibes. Breakfast at the hotel follows. The middle of the day is for the cultural programme: on 7 October a boat crosses to the Lérins Islands, where the group practises yoga and meditation on Saint-Honorat, the island inhabited only by Cistercian monks, then swims and eats a picnic lunch. On 8 October you choose between the artistic village of Saint-Paul-de-Vence with its art foundations, or Antibes and the Picasso Museum, with lunch in town for anyone who wants it.

Evenings close with a meditative or restorative practice, then dinner together — a rosé dinner on the first night, a dinner celebrating the sea on the second, and an "arty dinner" on the third inspired by the day's visits. The final morning has one last practice by the ocean and a closing circle before checkout.

What separates this from a standard Riviera yoga week is the setting and the access. The hotel is a converted Art Deco palace on the seafront, 10 km from Cannes and 15 km from Nice, with views to the Lérins Islands and the Esterel mountains. The retreat also runs a workshop from The Abundance Method, the practice written by organiser Svetlana, on the third evening.

Svetlana is Swiss and Yoga Alliance-certified in Yin and Vinyasa. She also works as a coach in emotional management, NLP and prana healing, and has run events and retreats in the South of France, Greece and Switzerland for several years. She is joined by a second yoga teacher and a mindfulness coach. She has a particular interest in art and leads practices in art foundations and museums.

The location does a lot of the work. Antibes, Saint-Paul-de-Vence and the Lérins Islands are all within easy reach, and the hotel sits directly on the water at Juan-les-Pins. Guests who want to stay longer can ask about extending before or after the retreat.
