Bavaria · 3 days · From EUR 1135
The retreats at HUBERTUS are short and focused: most run three or four days, with a named teacher and a stated theme. The 2026–27 programme includes Mindfulness Yoga with Doris Iding (8–11 November 2026), a Breathwork & Regeneration retreat with Johanna Lehmann (24–27 January 2027), "Being Present" with Josefin Knieriemen (28 February–3 March 2027), MOVE. BREATHE. BE. with Tobias Holzinger (14–17 March 2027), and a Recovery & Performance HYROX retreat with Carolin Bäumel and Fabian Trettenbach (21–24 March 2027). Later in the year there is Yin Yoga and breathwork with Andrea Kurth, a Nervous System Reset, a women-only Golden Goddess retreat with Nicole Bongartz, and a Somatic Winterflow retreat with Annet Münzinger.
Styles vary by week: Hatha, Yin, Yang, Ashtanga and breath-focused yoga all appear across the calendar, alongside meditation, mindfulness exercises and coaching formats. Some retreats lean towards detox and simplification — fewer inputs, fewer distractions, more attention on your own rhythm. Others put the emphasis on movement in the landscape, with hiking and walking built into the days so that the practice continues outdoors.
What separates these from a standard yoga holiday is the structure. Each retreat has a clear thematic focus and a set programme, rather than drop-in classes you pick and choose from. The teaching is led by the named teacher for that week, and the group moves through the days together.
The setting does a lot of the work. Balderschwang is high and quiet — no traffic noise, no constant background demand for attention. Guests describe the effect in practical terms: movements become more deliberate, breathing deepens, and the mind settles faster than it would at home. The landscape is not treated as a backdrop; walks and time outside are part of the programme on several of the retreats.
Because the stays are short, there is no long settling-in period. The first session tends to come quickly, and by the end of day one the pace has already changed. Guests often leave with a small set of routines — breathing exercises, a short sequence, a way of structuring a morning — that they can keep using afterwards.
