Home › Retreats › Yoga and Coastal Adventure Weekend on Northern Ireland's North Coast
United Kingdom · 4 days · From GBP 580
The weekend runs from Thursday 15 to Sunday 18 April 2027. Arrivals are from 3pm on the Thursday, with a big Irish welcome at 5pm, a vinyasa flow at 6pm, dinner at 7pm and chill yoga at 8pm. Friday starts early with Shatkarma at 7:15am, vinyasa at 8am and breakfast at 9:30am, then a coastal walk and a visit to the Giant's Causeway with lunch at 11am. The late afternoon is free in Portstewart, and the group heads back at 7pm.
Saturday is the fullest day: Shatkarma at 8am, snacks at 8:30am, an extended yoga practice at 9am and brunch at 11am. From 1pm there are beach activities — yoga, a sauna and horse riding at additional cost — then dinner at 6:30pm and a surprise activity at 7:30pm. Sunday is a morning flow at 9am, breakfast at 10am and goodbyes at 11am.
The base is the Old Flax Mill near Aghadowey, a property converted from a 1700s watermill with its own river running through it, which is used for dipping. There are several bedroom options at different prices, from a single bed in a shared four-bed room to a large double room with an en-suite. You pick your room when you book, and if it isn't showing, it has already gone.
What sets this apart from a standard yoga weekend is the amount of time spent outside the studio. The Giant's Causeway walk, the Portstewart afternoon and the Saturday beach session with a sauna mean the weekend is as much about the coast as the mat. Transport to and from the activities is by coach and is included.
The group is a mix of people coming alone and people coming together. The shared four-bed room is pitched as a good way to meet others, and the schedule builds in plenty of time for that. The yoga suits complete beginners as well as people with experience, since options are given throughout.
