Home › Retreats › Yoga and Hiking Wellness Retreat in Zion National Park
United States · 4 days · From USD 820
The retreat is built around three guided hikes, each on ground the host knows well. Day one starts easy, with a relaxing stroll through Red Reef in Leeds—a short, scenic trail with a water element that doesn't require getting wet. Day two is the big one: a drive along the full length of the Zion Canyon Scenic Drive with multiple photo stops, ending at the Temple of Sinawava where you can walk the Riverside Path anywhere from half a mile to two miles round trip. If you want to push further up into the Narrows, waders and hiking sticks can be rented. Day three heads to Snow Canyon State Park near St. George, with a two-mile guided hike past Jenny's Canyon—a small slot canyon—and the petrified dunes, with a possible stop at a rock shop on the way back.
Mornings are slower. On days two and three, there's a group yoga session in the vintage park directly across from the Airbnb—gentle, suitable for all levels, led by an experienced instructor (the host sometimes brings in a backup on days she's managing chronic pain). Day four offers an optional paid yoga class at Moqui Yoga in town, followed by an optional group walk through Confluence Park, a quiet local spot along the river that most tourists never find.
The accommodation is a 4-bedroom, 2-bath house in La Verkin, owned by the host's family for 13 years. It's got desert views, plush bedding, and the kind of southwest decor that suits the setting. Breakfast is provided each morning at the house (eggs, toast, bacon or sausage, fruit, coffee and tea), and dinners are taken out at restaurants Amanda has chosen—Balcony One on night one, the highly-rated Spotted Dog in Springdale on night two, and River Rock Roasting on night three, where a tarot reading follows dinner. Lunches are self-provided, though you can add a picnic lunch for
