Yoga and Macrobiotic Wellness Retreat at MasQi, Spain

The day usually begins with a yoga class — the style varies depending on which instructor is teaching that week. Some mornings are slower and more alignment-focused, others are stronger. The programme is designed so that you can join every session or skip one if you'd rather sleep in; nothing is compulsory.

Breakfast follows, then lunch and dinner are served at set times. The kitchen is macrobiotic: wholegrains, vegetables, pulses, sea vegetables, and fresh wild fish. They also cook vegan, gluten-free and other intolerance-friendly versions if you tell them in advance. Kukicha tea is available all day — they describe it as digestive, alkaline and antioxidant.

Afternoons are free for treatments. Your package includes one 60-minute massage or energy therapy per night of stay, and these are valued at €120 each. You can swap for a longer or different treatment for an extra charge. There's also a 60-minute macrobiotic nutrition video workshop you can watch during your stay.

Evening sessions run for 60 minutes and rotate through different meditation practices: sound baths at weekends, moving meditation, anapanasati, pranayama, mindfulness and conscious movement. The idea is that you try several forms rather than stick to one.

MasQi also offers a separate MasQi protocol — a more structured programme — for an additional €820 per week, with a minimum stay of seven nights. The standard Yoga Wellness Retreat can be booked for 3, 10, 14 or 21 days. Transfers are included for stays of at least five nights; contact them for terms and return-transfer discounts.
