Yoga and Sound Healing Week on Amorgos, Greek Islands

Jaime Kline leads all the classes and workshops herself. She is a 500-hour Registered Yoga Teacher, a certified Master Sound Healer and a Reiki Master, with more than 1,500 hours of related training behind her. She founded Satya Yoga & Wellness in 2023 and teaches in Maryland as well as on retreats. Her sessions mix vinyasa, restorative yoga, meditation, pranayama and sound healing — the sunset sound sessions are a fixture of the week.

The daily rhythm is consistent: morning yoga, pranayama and meditation, then breakfast. Day 2 adds a sunset sound healing session. Day 4 finishes with Yoga Nidra. Day 5 is the group sailing outing, with the evening free. Day 6 has restorative yoga before dinner, and Day 7 closes with a sunset sound session and a farewell dinner. Optional excursions run on Days 3, 4 and 7, and there is one group excursion included in the price.

What separates this from a generic Greek island yoga week is the setting. Aegialis Hotel & Spa has been among the top 10% of hotels internationally every year since 2014, and it has six yoga shalas, so classes are not squeezed into a corner of a terrace. The spa is award-winning, with a sauna, hammam, jacuzzi and indoor seawater pool, plus a fitness centre. The outdoor pool is Olympic size and filled with seawater.

Amorgos itself is volcanic and mountainous, with clear coves and walking country inland. It is only reachable by ferry, which is why it has stayed clear of mass tourism. The hotel is a short walk from one of the best beaches on the island. You fly into Santorini or Naxos and take a high-speed ferry (Seajet, for example) across; transfers from the port to the hotel on arrival and back on departure are included and arranged for you.

Rooms are in the Superior category, all with Aegean Sea views and a private balcony. A limited number of upgraded Exclusive Rooms are available on request. Rates are per person, shared or single, and payment plans are offered.
