Portugal · 8 days · From USD 855
The structure of each day is simple: breakfast on the balcony with a view over the sea, then a drive with the surf instructors to the best beach for the day's conditions. You'll get three hours of surf coaching, whether you're a first-timer learning to pop up or an intermediate looking to improve your paddling and wave selection. The waves are assessed daily, so you're never stuck on a flat or messy break.
After the surf session, you're driven back to camp for a Yin Yoga class led by Diana, a certified yoga teacher from the south of Portugal. Yin is a slow, floor-based practice that targets deep connective tissue — a good balance after the physical effort of surfing. Diana has a 400-hour Yoga Alliance certification and weaves in pranayama and meditation, so even if you're new to yoga, you'll leave feeling stretched and mentally settled.
Evenings are about good food and company. Francisco cooks traditional Portuguese dinners, often with wine included, and there are usually a few nights where you can wander into the village. The group size is capped at ten, so you genuinely get to know everyone. One guest review summarized it well: 'Great vibes, extraordinary host and delicious food prepared by Francesco.'
The camp is part of Jho'La Surf Camp, run from a comfortable house in Praia da Luz. The Algarve is known for its sunny climate, sandy beaches, and dramatic cliffs, and the camp's location is ideal for exploring the Fisherman's Trail or just relaxing by the pool. The combination of small size, personal attention, and a host who goes out of his way to accommodate everyone is what keeps past guests coming back.
