Kavo Maison sits in Munggu, a traditional Balinese village surrounded by rice fields, about ten minutes from both Canggu and Seseh. The retreat is built around daily yoga and meditation, with a rest day on Sunday when nothing is scheduled. Each day also includes a 60-minute Balinese massage, which is as good as it sounds after a week of travel. Breakfast is served from 7:00 AM, and there’s a group dinner once a week so everyone can sit down together.

The rooms are new and done up in a boho style, with air conditioning, fans, and hot water. The property has a pool, a yoga terrace, and a garden, and the whole place is designed to feel more like a home than a hotel. Larissa, one of the co-founders, is Swiss and brings an eye for design and a love of Bali’s culture to how the place is run.
