El Salvador · 6 days · From USD 3057
Days start with breakfast at your own pace, then yoga with Jose in the oceanfront shala and a coaching session with Meg. The yoga is vinyasa and restorative, with breathwork and guided meditation built in; Jose holds a 500-hour E-RYT certification with additional training in meditation, trauma-informed yoga and yin/restorative. Meg's sessions are structured workshops rather than talks — the focus is on identifying limiting beliefs, clarifying what you want next and setting actions to match. She is a certified life coach and NLP practitioner with a background in somatic movement, and has taught group fitness and indoor cycling for around a decade.
Afternoons are largely free. Two optional excursions are offered: the Tamanique waterfall trip, where you hike into the jungle and swim in pools that the group often has to itself, and a surf session with local guides suitable for complete beginners or experienced surfers. Both are add-ons and are booked separately. On day four the pace drops deliberately — yoga and coaching in the morning, then the spa, a massage or simply the sun loungers for the rest of the day.
The final full day brings back-to-back yoga and coaching sessions that pull the week's work together, followed by a closing ceremony and bonfire on the beach at sunset. Day six is breakfast and the shuttle back to the airport.
What separates this from a standard yoga week is the coaching component. Meg runs daily workshops alongside the physical practice, so the schedule alternates between moving and thinking rather than stacking up yoga classes. The group is small and the property is compact, which means you eat most meals with the same people — the two included meals each day are served at NAWI Beach House, with dinner on some evenings taken together as a group.
Mizata itself is a quiet stretch of coast rather than a resort strip. The property is built on land that was historically home to the Nahuat tribe, and the opening Mayan blessing ceremony acknowledges that. Beyond the resort there is surf, black-sand beach and jungle, and the nearest town is small. If you want nightlife and restaurants within walking distance, this is not that trip.
