Home › Retreats › Yoga & Movement Wellness Retreat in a Marrakech Palm Grove Oasis
Marrakech · 5 days · From USD 1159
The retreat runs on a simple daily rhythm: tea and juice at 8am, yoga from 9 to 10:30, a big breakfast, free time until 5pm, then a second yoga session with sound healing or Nia dance before dinner at 7:30. That free block in the middle is genuinely free — you can swim, book a massage, walk into town, or just do nothing. The property has two pools, a hammam, and a spa, so there's no pressure to leave.
Ines teaches a method she developed over decades of study with teachers in India and Europe. Each class follows a six-part structure: breathing exercises first, then preparatory movements to warm up, sun salutations, strength postures, stretching, and finally a long relaxation with meditation. She doesn't repeat the same sequence twice — each session builds on the last, so by the end of the week you've covered a lot of ground. She also adapts postures on the fly; if someone has a dodgy knee or a stiff shoulder, she'll modify the pose for them.
Nia dance is included alongside the yoga. It blends dance, martial arts, and movement therapy into something more playful than a typical fitness class — think expressive, freestyle movement rather than choreographed steps. Sound healing sessions use Tibetan singing bowls to help you wind down after practice. Both are optional in spirit; you're not required to participate if you'd rather skip them.
The venue is a boutique eco-resort with eight suites, each about 50 square metres with a living room, fireplace, private bathroom, and a terrace overlooking the garden and pool. The interior mixes Moroccan craftsmanship with Italian design — colourful tiles, carved wood, modern furniture. Outside, the Atlas Mountains frame the sunset every evening.
Food is a highlight. The chefs cook traditional Moroccan dishes — tagines, couscous, salads — using organic ingredients from local farms. Breakfast is hearty (think eggs, breads, fresh fruit, juices), and dinner is a proper sit-down affair. They cater to all dietary requirements if you let them know in advance.
If you want to explore beyond the property, the team can arrange excursions: guided tours of Marrakech's Medina, visits to Bahia Palace or the Majorelle Garden, hiking in the Atlas foothills, hot-air balloon flights, or horse riding. None of these are included in the price, but they're easy to book once you're there.
