Berlin · 3 days · From USD 520
Limba runs a handful of themed retreats through the year, each 3–4 days long. In May 2025 there's a Polish-language "Dance Into Spring" weekend with salsa and yoga; the 29 May–1 June retreat is in English and focuses on overcoming personal barriers; 13–16 July is for people who want to deepen an existing yoga practice; and 21–24 August is for women who want to align yoga and nutrition with their menstrual cycle. Prices start around €520 early bird for the shorter ones and go up to €690.
The daily schedule varies by retreat but generally looks like this: morning yoga or breathwork before breakfast, a long free afternoon, and an evening class before dinner. On the fundamentals retreat in July, for example, there are workshops on alignment and breath, plus time to practise teaching if that's your thing. The May salsa retreat swaps some yoga sessions for dance classes. The women's cycle retreat in August combines yoga with nutrition talks and cooking sessions tailored to cycle phases.
The food is a big part of the experience. Meals are mostly vegetarian, cooked communally using whatever's in season — think beetroot and barley salads, fresh rye bread, soups made from garden vegetables, and cakes baked in the house kitchen. If you have dietary requirements, you let them know when you book and they'll adjust.
Accommodation is in two cottages on the property, each with three bedrooms (one double, two twins), two bathrooms, a shared living room, a kitchen, and a private terrace. It's comfortable but not hotel-like — expect wooden floors, simple furniture, and a lot of quiet.
The location is the other draw. You're a 10-minute drive or a 40-minute walk from the beach at Dziwnówek, and there are forest trails straight from the property. Kayaking on the Dziwna river and horse riding at a nearby stable can be arranged. The whole area is part of the Wolin Island region, known for its cliffs and pine forests.
Laura, the main teacher, has been teaching yoga in Szczecin for years and leads most of the retreats herself. She's known for classes that are physically demanding but accessible, with clear instructions and hands-on adjustments if you want them. Guest teachers sometimes join for specific themes (like the salsa weekend).
What sets Limba apart is that it's genuinely small — usually 8 to 12 people — and the hosts are involved in every part of the day. You eat together, you practise together, and by the end of a long weekend you know everyone's name. The sustainability angle is real too: the garden supplies much of the produce, they compost, and there are workshops on permaculture if you're interested.
