Greece · 5 days · From USD 396
Foodpath has been hosting retreats for 18 years, and it shows. The place is built around four pillars—food, spirit, art, and nature—and the program flows from that. You'll start each day at 8:30 am with a short meditation, pranayama, and a yoga session. After a 10:00 am brunch, the day is yours: wander to the beach, journal under a tree, or join optional group activities that depend on the group's mood. Evenings bring another yoga class at 5:30 pm, often restorative or meditation-based, followed by dinner at 7:30 pm under the stars.
What makes this retreat different is the flexibility. You can start any day of the week, and you're welcome to stay longer than five days. The instructors meet you where you are—complete beginners and experienced yogis alike get the same patient attention. The teaching draws on Hatha yoga, pranayama, and self-reflection, with a spiritual root in the ancient Greek Self-Liberation path, explored in the book 'How to Die Before You Die,' available at the centre's library.
The location is a big draw. Paleros sits on the west coast of Greece, a 20-minute drive from Preveza Airport, with the Ionian Sea on one side and mountains on the other. You can hike, dive, sea kayak, or take a cooking class, though those activities cost extra. Guests often return because of the food, the hospitality, and the simple rhythm of the days.
