Home › Retreats › Yoga, Surf and Service Week in El Salvador: Jungle Vinyasa, Ocean Yin and a Waterfall Hike
El Salvador · 7 days · From USD 3700
The week is built around two daily yoga sessions. In the morning you'll do a Jungle Vinyasa flow, and in the evening a slower Ocean Yin practice, with guided meditation and a sound journey on the schedule too. The teachers describe the week as balancing active movement with deep rest, and the setting does a lot of that work for you: the property sits where the mountains meet the Pacific, with jungle walkways, hammocks and pools between the buildings.
Midweek there's a Temazcal ceremony, a traditional Mesoamerican sweat lodge, led as a group ritual. Another day is given over to community service at a local dog rescue, which the organisers frame as balancing inward practice with outward work. There's also a guided hike to the Tamanique waterfall and an afternoon in El Tunco, a surf town nearby.
Food is two meals a day at the on-site Nawi restaurant: brunch and dinner, plus dinner on arrival day and breakfast on departure day. The kitchen uses fresh, local ingredients, and one non-alcoholic drink is included with each meal. Between sessions you can use the sauna, cold plunge, two pools and the open-air jungle gym, or just take a lounger by the beach.
Accommodation is in bungalows and treehouses on the property, all with king-size beds, hot rain showers, mini bars, filtered water, Wi-Fi and air conditioning. Some have private patios with garden or ocean views and hanging net lounges. The Beachfront Bungalow and Jungle Treehouse were still available at the time of writing; the Jungle Bungalow and Beachfront Treehouse were sold out.
Getting there is straightforward: fly into El Salvador International Airport, where a group shuttle picks everyone up on 11 April and returns everyone on 17 April. The drive takes about two hours. If you arrive early to explore, you need to be back at the airport for the group pickup.
