Yoga Teaching Internship in Medellín: 28 Days of Practice, Mentorship, and Community

Colombia · 28 days · From USD 1249

The 28-day internship is built around a simple idea: the best way to learn to teach yoga is to actually teach, a lot, with good people watching you and telling you what's working. Every weekday morning, you'll dive into training modules—alignment, anatomy, philosophy, sequencing—then in the afternoons there's the Spanish class, and in the evenings you'll be teaching in the studio, either to the public or to your fellow interns. Senior teachers sit in on your classes, give detailed feedback on your pacing, your adjustments, your use of language, and your confidence. This isn't a passive course; you're expected to plan classes, teach them, and reflect on how they went.

What makes Flying Tree different from a standard YTT is the mentorship. It's a small program, so you get a lot of one-on-one time with Andrew and Andrea. Both are E-RYT 500-hour teacher trainers who have been leading trainings in Medellín for years, Andrew since 2016. They know you by name and they care about your growth. The studio itself is a warm, welcoming space in Laureles, with a fully equipped kitchen and a real community of local and international students you'll be teaching.

The location is a big part of the appeal. Medellín's 'eternal spring' climate means you can explore year-round, and there's a ton to do—salsa clubs, Comuna 13 street art, the botanical garden, the Feria de las Flores in August. The program's organizers are from all over the world themselves, so they're great at helping you settle in. It's a retreat that leaves you with practical skills, a global network, and a genuine feel for life in this fascinating city.
