United States · 10 days · From USD 4217
This retreat is rooted in the Ayurvedic idea that health returns when the body is given the right conditions to clear out what has accumulated—stress, poor digestion, sluggishness—and restore balance. Jodie, who has spent over twenty years studying Ayurveda, yoga, meditation, and depth psychotherapy, brings a therapist's ear and a teacher's clarity to the week. Sky handles the kitchen with evident skill, turning locally sourced, plant-based ingredients into meals that guests consistently rave about in their reviews.
A typical day includes a morning yoga and meditation session, followed by a two-hour Ayurvedic treatment. Abhyanga (warm herb-infused oil applied to the body), Shirodhara (a steady stream of oil on the forehead), and Swedana (sweating therapy) are the core treatments, each chosen according to your dosha and current needs. Afternoons might hold a cooking class, an educational circle on Ayurvedic principles, or unstructured time. Evenings often end with yoga nidra under the stars.
The program is structured enough to give your nervous system a reliable frame, but flexible enough to adapt. One-on-one sessions with Jodie are built into the week, so you can go deeper into whatever is showing up for you—whether that's chronic anxiety, digestive trouble, or simply an inability to slow down. The small group size (max three guests) means the attention is genuinely personal.
What makes this different from a larger retreat is the intimacy. You're not one of twenty people in a class. You're staying in a private or shared suite in a home built deliberately for rest, with hosts who remember your name and notice how you're doing. Guests often arrive feeling burnt out and leave reporting they felt cared for in ways they hadn't expected.
