100-Hour Hatha & Ashtanga Yoga Teacher Training in Coastal Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka · 11 days · From USD 1200

The training is grounded in traditional Hatha Yoga, focusing on building a steady, practical practice. Your mornings begin with asana practice covering standing and seated postures, forward bends, hip openers, twists, backbends, inversions, hand balances, and restorative poses. Everything is taught step by step, with attention to how the body actually feels in the posture, and you'll work across beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels, starting with foundations like Pavanmuktasana, Surya Namaskar, and Chandra Namaskar.

Meditation is woven into the daily rhythm, with time each day for quiet focus. You'll learn both the theory and practice of meditation, with an emphasis on simplicity and consistency to help settle the mind and reduce stress. Pranayama sessions introduce classical breathing techniques described in traditional Hatha texts, including the Hatha Pradipika, supporting your nervous system and refining breath awareness.

Yoga philosophy is taught in a clear, grounded way, covering the roots of yoga, the eight limbs, and key ideas from texts like the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, always relating them back to daily life and practice. Teaching methodology focuses on real skills: structuring a class, creating safe sequences, and adapting teaching to different students. Anatomy sessions help you understand how the body moves, how muscles work together, and how postures affect both the physical and subtle body, with alignment emphasized as a way to practice safely, not as rigid rules.

The course also includes an introduction to the practical side of teaching yoga, covering basic ideas around sharing your work, building confidence, and understanding how yoga fits into a sustainable livelihood. Mantra chanting is practiced as a group and individually, helping calm the mind and create a sense of connection. The training takes place at Blue Whale Resort, a quiet, simple place by the sea in Kalpitiya, surrounded by palm trees and open skies. It's not flashy or crowded—the feeling here is open and relaxed, close to nature, with plenty of space for rest, reflection, and routine.
