Home › Retreats › 100-Hour Pre and Postnatal Yoga Teacher Training in the Eifel, Germany
Germany · 10 days · From USD 2700
The course runs for ten full days, with roughly eight to ten hours of learning each day. The curriculum covers trimester-specific yoga practices, asana alignment and the safe use of props, breathing techniques and pranayama for each stage, guided meditations including loving-kindness and body scans, and an in-depth look at yogic anatomy—Prana, Nadis, Pancha Prana, and the Koshas. You'll also study the anatomical and physiological changes during pregnancy and childbirth, and learn how these affect mental and emotional wellbeing. Teaching methodology sessions cover how to prepare classes for each trimester, how to accommodate pregnant students in general classes, safety guidelines, and how to run 'Mum and bubs' classes after birth.
What sets this training apart is the attention to real-world teaching. You don't just learn theory—you practice adapting sequences for different stages, and you leave with published class plans. The teachers, Sandeep and Katharina, bring different strengths: Sandeep's deep roots in Indian yoga tradition and his experience as a chef (the meals are his domain), and Katharina's scientific background in nutrition and physiology, which means the anatomy and physiology content is accurate and evidence-based. They're both E-RYT 500 certified with Yoga Alliance, and the course counts as 100 hours of continuing education under the YACEP program.
The location is a big part of the experience. Heimbach sits on the edge of the Eifel National Park, a region of forests, lakes, and small villages. The school is a peaceful, homey space, a twenty-minute walk from Lake Rursee. Most days include some free time—guests go for swims, walk into town, or just rest. Evenings often feature kirtan, movie nights, or group excursions, and the communal dinners become a time for conversation and connection. It's a full-on course, but the setting keeps it from feeling rushed or stressful.
You'll leave with a certification recognized by Yoga Alliance (as continuing education hours), a detailed manual, a rudraksha mala, and the skills to confidently teach pre and postnatal yoga. More than that, past guests talk about the kindness of the couple who run the school, the quality of the food, and the friendships formed. It's a small, intimate training—not a production line—and that's what people remember.
