100-Hour Yoga Teacher Training Escape in Ubud, Bali

Indonesia · 10 days · From USD 948

The 100-hour yoga teacher training in Ubud, Bali, is one of the shortest courses available for beginners, taking just 11 days from start to finish. Run by Maa Shakti Yog, a registered yoga school from Rishikesh, India, the program covers the essentials of yoga in a format that fits into a busy schedule. The syllabus includes asana in multiple styles—Iyengar, yin, prenatal, Ashtanga, and Vinyasa—plus pranayama, meditation, mantra chanting, anatomy and physiology, alignment and adjustment, philosophy, and teaching methodology.

The days are long but thoughtfully paced. After a 6:30 am pranayama and meditation session, you'll move into a 90-minute asana class, then have breakfast. Late morning and early afternoon are dedicated to the more academic subjects: teaching methodology, anatomy, and philosophy. The late afternoon brings another asana practice, this time Vinyasa flow, and the day ends with yoga nidra and sound healing. There's a lunch break and a rest or self-study period built into the schedule, so you have time to absorb what you're learning.

What makes this program different from a longer training is its intensity. You cover a lot in a short time, but the small class size—between 8 and 15 students—means you get personal feedback from the teachers. The lead instructor, Yogi Rajesh ji, has over a decade of teaching experience and is an E-RYT 200 and RYT 500. He is joined by Jaggi, a Hatha yoga specialist from a family of yogis in Haridwar. Both bring a depth of knowledge that you might expect from a much longer course.

The location is a Balinese hotel in the Sayan area of Ubud, just a short drive from the town center. The hotel has a pool surrounded by a green garden, and rooms open directly onto the pool area. You'll have access to a 24-hour restaurant and free Wi-Fi. The training includes a day off for excursions, giving you a chance to explore Ubud's famous rice terraces, temples, and markets.

Upon completion, you'll receive a certificate that can be counted toward Yoga Alliance continuing education hours. The course also includes a weekend or day off for group excursions, so you can balance hard work with some fun and exploration.
