11-Day Advanced Yoga & Tantra Teacher Training in the Shadow of Mount Olympus, Greece

The training runs 11 days in Litochoro, a small town on the slopes of Mount Olympus in the Pieria region of northern Greece. That location matters: this isn't a beach resort retreat. It's a mountain town, with trails leaving from the edge of the village and the Thermaic Gulf visible from the lower slopes. The schedule is built around two blocks — a morning practice block and an afternoon study block — with meals in between and time in the evening to rest or keep reading.

Mornings are the heaviest part of the day. You'll be doing asana, pranayama, mantra, and meditation, taught at an advanced level and with the assumption that you already know the basics. The tantra side of the curriculum is traditional rather than the watered-down version — expect classical texts, philosophy, and practices that connect the physical work to something older and more structured. Afternoons move into study: lectures, discussion, and practice teaching where you take turns guiding the group and getting feedback.

The 80 hours count toward Yoga Alliance continuing education as a YACEP-certified programme, which means certified teachers can log them directly. If you're a dedicated practitioner rather than a teacher, you can still do the training — you just won't be claiming the CE hours. The content is the same either way.

What separates this from a generic 200-hour training is the combination. Most courses pick either yoga or tantra; this one treats them as one tradition and teaches them together. It's also advanced-level, so it moves faster and assumes you can already hold your own in a led practice. And it's short and dense — 11 days rather than three weeks — which suits people who can't take a full month off but still want a proper immersion.

Satya Loka, the school behind the training, is based in the UK and runs three retreats, including a yoga nidra and meditation retreat in Greece and a Reiki and gong sound healing training in West Wales. The facilitator team for each training is confirmed before the start, so you'll know who's teaching before you go. Litochoro itself is a base for Olympus hikes and has tavernas, a couple of small hotels, and easy access from Thessaloniki.
