This private 11-day journey covers the best of Uganda's wildlife: rhinos on foot at Ziwa, the Nile at Murchison Falls, chimpanzees in Kibale Forest, tree-climbing lions in Ishasha, and a mountain gorilla family deep in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.

You travel in a private 4x4 with a professional English-speaking local guide from Nkuruba Community Tours, a company that grew from walking tours around the crater lakes of Fort Portal. There are guided forest treks, a walking safari with an armed ranger at Lake Mburo, game drives and boat trips on the Nile and the Kazinga Channel. The walking is moderate, and the gorilla trek can take several hours through steep rainforest.

The gorilla and chimpanzee permits, rhino tracking and park fees are all included. You can stay in luxury, mid-range or budget lodges, and the itinerary is tailored to your dates, pace and travel style.
