12-Week Muay Thai Fight Camp in Phuket: Train for Your First Professional Fight

Thailand · 84 days · From THB 3790

A typical week runs Monday to Saturday. You start early with a group run, then skip rope and stretch before pad rounds with a Thai coach. Sessions last around two hours. Breakfast follows, then you have the middle of the day free — most people sleep, get a massage, or go to the beach. Afternoon training starts around 15:30 with bagwork, clinching, and pad work again, finishing with conditioning. Sunday is a rest day.

Technique work is in Thai style: heavy on pad rounds, clinch, and repetitive drilling. Coaches correct your stance, your kick, your teep, and your elbow and knee entries within the same session. Sparring is introduced gradually — controlled at first, harder as the fight approaches. The last three or four weeks shift toward fight-specific conditioning: more rounds, sharper weight management, and a focus on the specific opponent and style you've been matched with.

What separates this from a shorter fight camp is the length. Twelve weeks means you build fitness properly, recover from the niggles that come with hard training, and still have time to learn. There is no rush to cram technique into a fortnight. Coaches have time to break habits and rebuild them. Fighters who've done this camp usually say the last month is where the real progress shows up — by then the basics are automatic and the work is about sharpening.

Sumalee is a genuine fight gym, not a fitness holiday with pads on the side. The coaches have cornered hundreds of fighters, and the gym's record over roughly 15 years is measured in debuts that went well. You'll train alongside other fighters preparing for their own bouts, which sets the tone for the whole camp.

The gym sits in Si Sunthon, a quiet area of Phuket between the tourist hubs of Patong and the quieter northern beaches. It's about 15 minutes from Bang Tao and Surin beaches, and a short ride to local markets, cafes and supermarkets. Phuket International Airport is roughly 30 minutes by car. The location is practical rather than scenic — you're here to train.
