14-Day Cambodia Wellness & Volunteering Retreat: Yoga, Elephants, and Island Time

Siem Reap · 14 days · From EUR 3333

Most days start with yoga or meditation, often outdoors — on a riverside deck in Kampot or facing the sea on Koh Rong Sanloem. Breakfast follows, then the day's main activity: a cacao ceremony at a waterfall pagoda, a paddle-boarding trip through mangroves, or a cooking class using fresh local ingredients. Lunch is either at your accommodation or a small family-run restaurant, and afternoons are left open for pool time, massages, or simply reading in a hammock. Evenings might include a sound healing session, a night market visit, or a group dinner.

The retreat moves through four locations. You begin in Siem Reap with three nights at a hotel with a pool, visiting a elephant sanctuary and exploring Angkor Wat at sunrise. Then you fly to Kampot (flight included) for four nights on the river, where you'll volunteer at a local school, make natural beauty products, and paddle down the lazy river. A train and boat ride takes you to Koh Rong Sanloem for four nights on white-sand beaches — here you'll swim with bioluminescent plankton, hike to a lookout point, and have a self-love photoshoot. The final two nights are in Phnom Penh at a city oasis, with market visits and a farewell breakfast by the pool.

What sets this apart is the volunteering component and the foundation behind it. You're not just passing through; you're contributing to free education for children in rural communities. Rachel's team organises everything, from transport to meals, so you can focus on the experience. The group size is kept small (usually 5–12 people), which means it feels more like travelling with friends than a big tour. You'll also have one-to-one coaching sessions and tarot readings if you want them, plus plenty of group bonding over shared meals and experiences.

Daily yoga and meditation are suitable for all levels, including complete beginners. Sessions are typically 60–90 minutes and focus on gentle flow, stretching, and relaxation rather than intense workouts. If you're looking for a hardcore fitness retreat, this isn't it — but if you want to move your body, quiet your mind, and see a beautiful country while doing some good, it's hard to beat.
