20-Day Himalayan Yoga Trek: Annapurna Circuit & Tilicho Lake Adventure

Nepal · 20 days · From USD 1467

The Annapurna Circuit is one of the world's classic trekking routes, and this version adds daily yoga, pranayama, and meditation to help your body handle the altitude and physical demands. You'll cover diverse terrain — starting in subtropical lowlands, climbing through temperate forests, crossing high alpine passes, and descending through the dry Mustang region. The landscapes change dramatically: lush bamboo groves give way to pine forests, then stark rocky plateaus, then finally the cultivated valleys and apple orchards around Marpha.

The trek includes several major highlights beyond just walking. Thorong La Pass (5,416m) is the high point — you leave before dawn from Thorong Phedi, climb steadily for several hours, and cross the pass with views of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Manaslu before descending to Muktinath. Tilicho Lake sits at 4,919m, surrounded by snow-capped peaks, and takes a full day to visit from base camp. Poon Hill offers one of Nepal's most famous sunrise views, with the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges spread out before you in the early morning light.

You'll be led by Priya, a certified yoga instructor from a family of practitioners, and Jay, a trained trekking guide with local knowledge and physical training experience. They handle the logistics, set the pace, and run the yoga sessions. The group size varies by season — peak times (October-November) see more trekkers on the route generally, but your group stays together throughout.

Accommodation ranges from 2-3 star hotels in Kathmandu and Pokhara to basic teahouses on the trail. At higher altitudes, expect simple rooms with shared facilities. The food is local Nepali cuisine — filling, carb-heavy, designed to fuel long days of walking. Vegetarian and vegan options are available throughout.

This trek suits people who are reasonably fit, comfortable with long days of walking, and interested in combining physical challenge with contemplative practice. It's not technical climbing, but it is demanding — you'll be walking for hours each day at altitude, and the Thorong La crossing is a genuine test. Previous trekking experience helps but isn't essential if you're in good shape.
