Home › Retreats › 20-Day Traditional Yoga Teacher Training in Bali's Spiritual Heart
Indonesia · 20 days · From USD 1119
The course is built around a structured daily routine that mirrors life in a traditional ashram. Mornings begin before sunrise with Yoga Sadhana, followed by pranayama and meditation, then a long Ashtanga Vinyasa practice before breakfast. The rest of the day is split between anatomy, alignment, and teaching methodology in the late morning, then philosophy and classical Hatha in the afternoon. It's a demanding schedule, but it's balanced with a long lunch break and a self-study period so you're not just going from class to class without time to process.
What sets this training apart is the depth of the traditional teachings. Alongside the physical practice, you'll study yoga philosophy, mantra chanting, and the yogic lifestyle — not as an add-on, but as a core part of the curriculum. The teaching team includes instructors with serious credentials: Naveen has trained over 1,000 teachers since 2015 and holds a Master's in yogic science; Sadhu Sri specializes in Indian philosophy and studied at the Sivananda Ashram in Rishikesh; and a full-time Ayurvedic doctor, Dr. Devyani, teaches nutrition and dosha balance. This isn't a fitness-focused teacher training — it's a lineage-based education.
The ashram sits in Peliatan, a quieter village area of Ubud, away from the busiest tourist streets. You're surrounded by rice fields and tropical greenery, with easy access to temples, waterfalls, and the rest of what Ubud is known for. The environment is calm and non-competitive, and the group size is capped at 20, so you get real attention from the teachers and a genuine sense of community with the other students. If you're serious about teaching yoga or just want an immersive, traditional training experience, this is a strong option.
