Sampoorna Yoga sits on a 20,000 square-metre campus just back from Agonda, one of the quieter beaches in South Goa. The campus is green and spread out, with sea-view yoga shalas, a pool, a gym and the dining area all within a few minutes' walk of each other. Students live and train in the same place, so once you arrive there's no commuting. You walk from your room to the shala and down to the beach.
The 200-hour Ashtanga Vinyasa course is the school's flagship. It's a teacher training rather than a holiday retreat, so the schedule is structured and the workload is real. A typical day starts early with pranayama and a led or Mysore-style Ashtanga practice. After breakfast come lectures and workshops on anatomy, alignment, hands-on adjustment, teaching methodology and yoga philosophy. Afternoons bring more technique work and practice teaching, and evenings usually close with meditation, chanting or Yoga Nidra. One day a week is kept free for rest, laundry and exploring.
What sets Sampoorna apart from a lot of Goa trainings is scale and track record. Seventeen years and 17,000+ graduates means the curriculum, timetable and logistics have been tested over hundreds of intakes. Having a pool and a fully equipped gym on campus is less common than you'd think. Some students use the gym to keep up strength work alongside the yoga, which helps with the physical load of daily Ashtanga.
If Ashtanga isn't the right fit, the school also runs a 200-hour Hatha Vinyasa course and a 300-hour Advanced Vinyasa course for qualified teachers. There are also online and hybrid versions in English and Spanish, plus shorter courses in Pranayama, Yoga Nidra and hands-on adjustment.
Agonda itself is a long, calm beach with a handful of beach huts and cafés, far less built up than North Goa. Palolem, with more restaurants and nightlife, is a short drive south. The school has also supported the Animal Shelter Agonda for more than ten years, and the shelter's dogs and cats are part of village life.
