Home › Retreats › 200-Hour Hatha & Ashtanga Yoga Teacher Training in Coastal Goa
India · 23 days · From USD 1160
The training blends three main yoga styles: traditional Hatha, dynamic Ashtanga, and flowing Vinyasa. Each morning, expect a full asana practice starting with sun salutations, followed by standing poses, forward bends, twists, backbends, and restorative postures. The afternoons dive into alignment, pranayama, meditation, and the philosophy behind the poses. You'll also study anatomy, the energetic body (chakras, nadis, koshas), and the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, making this a well-rounded foundation for teaching.
Teaching practice is a core part of the curriculum. You'll learn to sequence classes, communicate clearly, and offer safe adjustments, then practice on your fellow students with feedback from the teachers. By the end, you'll have delivered your own class and built real confidence. The syllabus follows Yoga Alliance guidelines, and the school is a registered Yoga Alliance school, so your certificate is internationally recognized.
What sets Oceanic Yoga apart is its setting and longevity. Teaching since 2007, they've trained over 2,500 students. The campus is dedicated solely to yoga — not a multi-purpose hotel — so the entire environment supports your learning. You'll live in simple, air-conditioned cottages with balconies, all within a lush, hillside property that overlooks the Arabian Sea. The nearby beach at Morjim is a turtle nesting site, adding a layer of natural beauty and quiet responsibility to your stay.
The food is a highlight: pure vegetarian, buffet-style meals three times a day, made with fresh, local ingredients. They also offer vegan and gluten-free options on request. Saturday dinners and Sunday meals are excluded, giving you a chance to explore local restaurants. The staff cooks with love and care, and the emphasis on sattvic (pranic) food supports your practice and digestion.
Community is a big part of the experience. With a group size capped at 18, you'll form close bonds with fellow students from around the world. Shared meals, group practices, and evening kirtans create a supportive atmosphere. Whether you come as a beginner or a seasoned practitioner, the training meets you where you are, helping you deepen your practice and step into teaching with authenticity.
