Andalusia · 30 days · From USD 2450
The 200-hour training at Ananda Forest is a full-immersion month that blends traditional hatha yoga with meditation, philosophy, and hands-on teaching practice. Each day brings a rhythm of morning asana, pranayama, meditation, and afternoon study, with evenings often reserved for kirtan, bhajans, or movie nights. The course is registered with Yoga Alliance, and on completion you'll receive an internationally recognized certification, along with the practical skills and confidence to teach an integral hatha yoga class.
The curriculum covers a lot of ground: traditional hatha yoga postures with attention to alignment and adjustments, how to sequence a class for different groups, the benefits and counter-indications of asanas and pranayama, an introduction to Yin yoga and Hridaya meditation, and a deep dive into yogic philosophy with the Patanjali yoga sutras, Bhagavad Gita, and Yoga Pradipikha among the texts. You'll also study anatomy, learn meditation techniques including self-inquiry, and explore mantra yoga, nada yoga, and bhajans. The teaching is practical and hands-on, and by the end of the month you'll have designed and taught your own class.
What makes this training special is the combination of experienced teachers and a genuine, non-dogmatic approach. Floris and Paulina have been leading trainings together since 2013, drawing from classical yoga, tantra, the Bihar School of Yoga, and years of living in ashrams and communities across Mexico, India, Spain, and France. They're rooted in the tradition but open in their approach, hosting a space where the practice is lived as much as studied. The group is intentionally small—between three and nine participants—so you get personal attention and feedback throughout.
The setting supports the whole experience. Ananda Forest sits at the foot of the Sierra Nevada, with over 300 days of sunshine a year. The land is full of gardens, patios, fruit trees, and quiet corners to hang out in, and the yoga shala is a beautiful wooden structure built for practice and inner work. There are optional hikes in the mountains, a Sunday trip to the beach, and plenty of time to simply be in nature. It's a month that asks a lot of you, and gives a lot back.
