200-Hour Multi-Style Yoga Teacher Training in the Himalayan Foothills of Dharamsala, India

India · 25 days · From USD 1125

The 200-hour curriculum follows the Yoga Alliance framework exactly: 100 hours of techniques (asana, pranayama, kriya, chanting, meditation), 25 hours of teaching methodology, 20 hours of anatomy and physiology, 30 hours of philosophy and ethics, and 10 hours of practicum where you start teaching others. On top of that, the school adds workshops in therapeutic yoga, Ayurveda, Sanskrit, and chakra balancing, which most standard TTCs skip.

A typical day starts at 6:30 am with asana and pranayama, then a full morning of lectures on anatomy or philosophy, a long lunch, and afternoon sessions on teaching method or meditation. Evenings at 7 pm are for mantra chanting or restorative practice. Saturdays are lightly scheduled and Sundays entirely free—time to explore.

The teachers are the real strength. Dr. Keshava leads the program with a focus on meditation and spiritual healing; Eleanor, a French osteopath with RYT-500+, teaches anatomy and yin; Shubham brings traditional Hatha from Pune and his Kaivalyadhama training; Amaresha and Yogeesh cover Ashtanga and Vinyasa. Between them they have decades of combined teaching experience, mainly on registered schools.

The food is simple, fresh, and entirely vegetarian—mostly organic, prepared in the school's own kitchen. Guests consistently rate it highly. With warm clothes, a flashlight, and a pair of walking shoes you'll be all set: the village is car-free, the air is clean, and the views go on for miles. Most mornings you'll hear the monks chanting from the monastery nearby.
