200-Hour Transformational Yoga Teacher Training in Ubud, Bali

Indonesia · 7 days · From USD 4318

This 200-hour teacher training with YiA International is about stepping into the role of a yoga teacher in a way that feels true to you. It’s alignment-based vinyasa at its core, but you’re actively encouraged to teach yoga in whatever style resonates – past graduates have gone on to teach yin, restorative, power yoga, acro, kids’ yoga, and more. The training is small, usually no more than five students, which gives you far more one-on-one attention than most YTT courses. You’ll actually practice teaching a full asana class during the week, and get direct feedback so you leave ready to lead.

The curriculum is deep. Alongside daily asana practice, you’ll explore the eight limbs of yoga, tantric philosophy, and how to weave ancient teachings into modern life. There’s a strong focus on anatomy and alignment – you’ll use their posture clinic worksheets to break down key poses, learn safe adjustments, and understand how to teach different populations. You’ll also take an Ayurvedic body type quiz and an Enneagram personality test, both of which feed into your self-study and help you understand yourself better as a teacher.

Katherine Sophia, the lead trainer, is with you throughout. Her background is broad – Master Yogini, 70.3 Ironman triathlete, holistic life coach – and she’s known for creating a warm, loving atmosphere. She runs a private goal-setting session with every student before the course starts, helping you arrive already focused. The rest of the week is immersive: classes run from 8am to 5pm, with some evenings optional, and there’s always space for sharing, questions, and honest conversation within the group.

You’ll also get a taste of Bali beyond the shala. There’s a water temple purification ceremony at the end, a trip to Sanur Beach for an asana practice by the sea, and plenty of time to explore Ubud – the spiritual heart of the island – with its temples, art, and extraordinary healthy food scene. The location itself, a colonial villa among rice paddies, is as much a part of the experience as the curriculum, with luxury touches and a sense of calm that makes it easy to go inward.
