200-Hour Yin Yoga Therapy Teacher Training by the Beach in Sri Lanka

The training is built around the Yin Yoga Healing Method, which connects yin yoga with mindfulness, Taoism, and Oriental Medicine. You'll learn how to use acupressure points and conscious touch to stimulate the body's own healing response, and how to sequence classes according to the Daoist elements and meridians. The 200-hour format is split into three weeks of in-person immersion at KSL Resort, plus 40 hours of self-paced online study covering anatomy, physiology, and general yoga humanities, which you can complete over the following year. After passing the in-person assessment, you receive your Yin Yoga Therapy™ diploma immediately, and once the online work is done you can register as an RYT 200 with Yoga Alliance.

The teaching team is led by Dr. Alexandra Denkinger, a German-born acupuncture therapist and RYT 500 who moved to India nearly two decades ago to study Ayurveda and yoga. She's known for a practical, non-dogmatic approach that values how a pose feels over how it looks. Manuela, the other lead trainer, brings a background in Buddhist meditation from the Tushita centre in Dharamsala and combines yin with sound healing. Both are deeply experienced and give each student plenty of individual attention during practice teaching sessions.

Sri Lanka itself is part of the experience. Kalpitiya sits between the ocean and a calm lagoon, with a wild garden, a spacious ocean-view shala, and quiet spots for reflection. The resort runs a yoga teacher training school and treatment space, and the environment is quiet enough to focus entirely on your studies while still being close enough to local villages, beaches, and a national park for a bit of adventure on days off.
