Home › Retreats › 200-Hour Yoga & Ayurveda Teacher Training in the Himalayan Foothills of Pokhara
Nepal · 24 days · From USD 1292
The course is designed as a complete education in both yoga and Ayurveda, not just a physical practice. You'll study Patanjali's Yoga Sutras, the Eight Limbs, and the Bhagavad Gita in the philosophy sessions, then apply that framework to your asana practice each morning. The anatomy and physiology modules cover the musculoskeletal system and energy body, so you understand how the poses work from the inside out. Teaching methodology sessions cover sequencing, cueing, and adjustments, with practice teaching sessions to put it into action.
The Ayurveda teaching is woven through the whole month, not bolted on as an afterthought. You'll learn to understand your own constitution (dosha), how to balance your energies through diet and herbs, and how to use daily lifestyle practices for lasting wellness. This is the foundation of the program — the Ranabhat family who run it, and Master Hemu Masant, the lead teacher, are rooted in a Himalayan tradition that treats yoga and Ayurveda as one system.
The setting is a huge part of the experience. The retreat sits on a hill above the Lakeside area of Pokhara, surrounded by forest. From the balconies and the practice deck you look out over Phewa Lake and the rolling hills. The family lives on site, and guests consistently mention being treated like family rather than customers. Founder Yam Bahadur Ranabhat goes out of his way to look after people — there are reviews of him staying up with sick guests and taking students to see land he's bought for a new retreat center.
