Home › Retreats › 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training and Wellness Escape in Sri Lanka's Fruit Farm
Sri Lanka · 22 days · From USD 2715
The training is built on five living pillars that weave together so theory and practice never feel separate. Asana includes static, balancing, and strengthening poses, inversions and handstands, deep stretching, and the surrender of Yin and restorative shapes, always with the teaching skills to guide others safely. Anatomy grounds it in the body—alignment, mobility, skeletal and muscular systems, and the art of sensitive adjustments. Philosophy opens the practice inward with Patanjali's eight limbs, the chakra system, the koshas, mantras and mudras, and the philosophy of Yin. Pranayama and meditation introduce the subtle body directly, covering nadis, prana vayus, breathing techniques, and guided and movement meditation.
Beyond the pillars, the days are enriched with experiences you won't find everywhere. Ecstatic dance and cacao, conscious connected breathing, sound healing, a blessing with a Buddhist monk, and contrast therapy with ice bath and sauna. There are workshops in advanced asana, an introduction to Ayurveda, prenatal and postnatal yoga, and yogic nutrition. The schedule is full but leaves room for rest and the nearby waves. Saturdays and Sundays are yours to recharge.
The teaching team is a blend of backgrounds and expertise. Dr. Freya, an ERYT-500 teacher trainer, massage therapist, and nutritionist, brings over seven years of international teaching with a biomechanics-informed approach. Marilena, a 500-hour Yoga Synergy teacher from Germany, trained in Ayurveda and studied directly with Simon Borg-Olivier. Gianluca Iacopini, the lead facilitator, trained in Bali and teaches in Amsterdam, known for dynamic Vinyasa and deeply relaxing Yin sessions. The training also includes guest facilitators and local wellness practitioners.
What sets Senses apart is the depth of care woven through everything. It's a working fruit farm, far from traffic, where the beach is a short walk away. The training lives inside one of Sri Lanka's most established yoga schools, offering more than forty classes and ceremonies a week. After graduating, you can join the internship and mentorship program, with the chance to become a Senses teacher yourself. Every cohort also gifts one full scholarship to a Sri Lankan student, giving back to the land that holds the practice.
