200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training and Wellness Retreat in Bali

Indonesia · 21 days · From USD 1294

The core of this retreat is the 200-hour curriculum. You'll cover yoga philosophy, anatomy, alignment, and teaching techniques through a mix of lectures, practical sessions, and hands-on teaching practice. The goal is straightforward: by the end you can confidently lead a class. The teaching team includes Vivek, who studied at Ved Niketan Ashram in Rishikesh and teaches Hatha, Ashtanga, and Vinyasa; Paula, a Brazil-based Ashtanga teacher trained in Rishikesh; and Sarvottam, an ERYT-500 certified teacher who leads philosophy, pranayama, and meditation. Soney handles Ashtanga and alignment, and Pankaj brings a vinyasa background from Rishikesh.

The property is a small yoga center in a quiet part of Ubud, about a five-minute drive from the Arjuna Statue and Ubud Market. It has a garden, a pool, and a dedicated yoga shala. Being out of the busy center means the only noises are birds and nature, which makes it easier to focus on the training. You'll eat all meals on-site, and they're vegetarian or vegan, mostly Asian-style.

A big part of what makes this training different is the mix of Indian teachers. Having people who grew up in Rishikesh teaching the philosophy and practice gives it a level of authenticity you don't always get in shorter retreats. The program also includes small-group teaching practice, so you're not just learning theory — you're actually standing in front of people and teaching from early on.

The group is capped at 20, so you get attention. Past students in reviews have singled out Soney as a genuinely exceptional instructor, and the anatomy teacher Aakanksha has also been praised for clarity.

While the course content is strong, some past guests noted the property itself feels run down, and that the food could be oilier than expected. It's worth taking those reviews seriously and going in with realistic expectations about the accommodation and meals. The strengths are the teaching and the program itself.
