The 200-hour yoga teacher training at the Wellness Connection is not just about learning to teach yoga; it's about understanding the practice from a movement science perspective. The curriculum is comprehensive, covering yoga pose practice, applied yoga anatomy, sequencing, teaching practice, and the history and philosophy of yoga. You'll explore a range of yoga styles, including Yin, Kids Yoga, Yoga for Bigger Bodies, Yoga for Absolute Beginners, Massage for Yoga, Pilates for Yoga, and Pregnancy Yoga. You'll also delve into meditation, mindfulness, breathwork, and the business of yoga, gaining practical tools to build your own teaching career.

The studios themselves are a highlight: environmentally thoughtful structures built from local alien trees, floating over the land in a serene indigenous forest. The training space is designed to minimize impact and maximize tranquility. The forest setting provides a constant connection to nature, with mountain views and only the sounds of birds and wind. This is a barefoot luxury experience, where you can focus entirely on your practice and learning.

The Wellness Connection team, led by founder Catherine Wilkinson, brings over three decades of experience. Catherine has designed the 200hr, 300hr, and 500hr curricula and has trained thousands of trainees. She is a 500-hour Experienced Registered Advanced Yoga Teacher Trainer with Yoga Alliance and has an extensive background in movement and health sciences. Her approach is evidence-based, encouraging students to question and understand yoga rather than just follow. The training includes lifetime access to recordings on YouTube, a comprehensive training manual, and ongoing support from lead trainers after the course ends.
