Indonesia · 21 days · From USD 1552
This 200-hour training is held in Ubud, Bali, at a yoga school that feels like a sanctuary away from the main roads. You'll stay in fully furnished rooms with private bathrooms, eat three vegetarian meals a day on the ground floor, and practice in the rooftop yoga hall overlooking the green surroundings. The schedule starts early—around 6 or 7 AM—and includes meditation, asana practice, pranayama, philosophy, and anatomy, often spanning 10 hours a day. Sundays are your free day, and the first of the month is the dedicated check-in, with the program running every month of the year.
What sets this training apart is the teaching team. The lead instructors are Soney Ji, Sarvottam Kumar, Dr. Yashpal, and Dr. Naveen—all from Rishikesh, India, and all with deep personal practice and years of teaching. They bring a strong emphasis on traditional Eastern techniques like kriyas, yoga nidra, and mantra chanting, alongside a solid foundation in alignment and teaching methodology. Classes are kept intentionally small, so you're not one of fifty students lost in the crowd; you get direct, personal attention and adjustments.
The curriculum covers everything you need to start teaching: asana alignment, sequencing, use of props, voice modulation, Sanskrit names, and the principles of anatomy and physiology. You'll also study yoga philosophy through the ancient texts and learn the business side of teaching yoga. There's practical teaching time during the course, especially in the final week, where you'll lead sessions and get real feedback. By the end, you'll have the tools to teach Vinyasa and the Ashtanga Primary Series with confidence.
The location itself is part of the experience. Ubud is Bali's cultural heart, surrounded by rice paddies, forests, and temples. You're within walking distance to the Monkey Forest and a short drive to the Campuhan Ridge Walk and the Ubud Market. The school offers a few local excursions during the training, so you'll get to see the island while focusing on your practice. The afternoon breaks give you time to explore, rest in the garden, or have a swim in the pool.
