200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training on Colombia's Caribbean Coast

200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training on Colombia's Caribbean Coast

Colombia · 24 days · From EUR 2399

The training runs for 24 days on a fixed schedule. Mornings begin with sadhana and meditation from 06:30 to 07:30, followed by a tea break and a 90-minute yoga journey from 08:00 to 09:30. Breakfast runs 10:00 to 11:30, then yoga philosophy from 11:30 to 12:15. After that comes energetic anatomy and pranayama (12:45–14:00), lunch (14:00–16:00), anatomy (16:00–17:30), asana lab (17:45–19:00) and dinner at 19:00. The schedule repeats most days, with variations for ceremonies and workshops.

The styles taught are Hatha-Kundalini, Vinyasa, Acro Yoga and Himalayan Kriya Yoga. You also cover yoga philosophy, energetic anatomy, pranayama, mantra and Bhakti. Ancestral ceremonies — Rapé, Cacao and Blue Lotus — are woven into the programme. Workshops include Acro Yoga and arm balance, Ayurveda, Yin and sound healing. There is a day trip to the river for tubing.

The group is capped at 16, and most groups end up around 12. That small size means the teachers can give individual attention and run one-on-one mentorship sessions. The lead teachers are Caro and Marco, both E-RYT 500 with over 1,000 hours of training. Caro is from Colombia and has studied in Southeast Asia and India; she specialises in Himalayan Kriya Yoga, advanced pranayama, Yin, Restorative, Ayurveda-inspired living and ancestral ceremonies. Marco is a philosopher and musician as well as a teacher.

The venue is a newly opened Caribbean beachfront eco wellness retreat at the base of the Sierra Nevada, minutes from Palomino. It has a private beach, river access, a yoga shala, a restaurant and eco-friendly cabanas surrounded by palm trees. The kitchen serves vegan and gluten-free meals three times a day, prepared by a Colombian chef using locally sourced organic ingredients.

On completion you can register with Yoga Alliance as an RYT-200 teacher. Graduates join an alumni network with circles, meetups and online gatherings across four continents. Some alumni go on to collaborate on retreats, refer students to each other, or co-teach.
