Costa Rica · 11 days · From USD 2499
The structure is built so concepts have time to settle. Each day follows the same shape: 7:30 morning meditation, 8:00 Hatha or Vinyasa asana, breakfast at 9:30, then training sessions and practice teaching through to a 10:30 block, lunch and personal time from 2:15, more training at 4:15, and a Yin or Restorative practice at 6:30 before dinner at 7:30. The in-person schedule in Costa Rica runs this way daily with one full day off per week; there's also a self-paced online component as part of the hybrid format.
What separates this from a single-style YTT is the breadth. You're not just learning to sequence a flow — you're learning when a Restorative shape serves a student better than a standing pose, how Yin works on connective tissue, and how to hold the quieter, slower end of practice as well as the dynamic end. Leah's emphasis on anatomical integrity runs through all of it, so the alignment cues you learn are grounded rather than aesthetic.
The practice-teaching time is where it gets real. Rather than absorbing theory and hoping it transfers, you spend blocks each day actually guiding others and getting feedback, which is why graduates tend to walk away able to teach with some confidence rather than just holding a certificate.
The retreat center sits between jungle and beach near Montezuma's coastline, with two pools, a sun deck, a gym, an ocean-view yoga shala, a sauna and spa, and meditation nooks tucked around the property. Montezuma itself is known for its waterfalls, surfing, hiking, ziplines and nearby national parks, so the day off has plenty to fill it.
Graduates leave with a 200-hour Yoga Alliance certification and a detailed training manual, plus a clearer read on how they want to teach — or simply a much deeper personal practice if teaching professionally isn't the goal.
