200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training & Wellness Immersion in Rishikesh, India

The training takes place at Adishesh Yoga, a school set on the banks of the Ganga River, just outside the center of Rishikesh. The name Adishesh refers to the cosmic serpent in Hindu mythology, symbolizing infinite support, and the school aims to provide that same support to its students. Each day follows a traditional yogic schedule: mornings start with meditation, pranayama, and a Hatha Yoga practice, followed by a sattvic breakfast, then theory classes in anatomy and philosophy, a vegetarian lunch, self-study, and an afternoon Ashtanga or Vinyasa practice. Evenings include meditation and time to relax or connect with other students. The curriculum is comprehensive, covering Hatha, Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Yin, pranayama, meditation, yoga philosophy (including the Yoga Sutras and the Eight Limbs), anatomy, alignment, adjustments, teaching methodology, and an introduction to Ayurveda. Teachers emphasize hands-on learning, and with only 5-10 students per course, you’ll get individual feedback and support throughout. You’ll also have a day off each week (usually Sunday) to explore Rishikesh or join an organized excursion. The course is suitable for beginners and experienced practitioners alike—no prior teaching experience is required. By the end, you’ll have the confidence and skills to teach, but many students simply join to deepen their own practice and understanding of yoga.
