Home › Retreats › 21-Day Advanced Yoga Teacher Training in Italy's Vineyard Countryside
Italy · 21 days · From USD 3799
The training takes place at Villa dei Cipressi, a 28-hectare heritage estate on the highest hilltop in Sona, in Italy's Veneto region. The property includes a historic main villa, a modern manor overlooking the vineyard, and a rustic-chic farmhouse at the edge of the olive grove. Yoga classes and meals happen in the main villa, and you can swim in the outdoor pool, stroll through the rose gardens, or walk into town for gelato between sessions. Verona is a short trip away for cultural excursions.
Each day follows a rhythm designed to integrate theory and practice. Mornings start with meditation, breathwork, and chanting, followed by a 90-minute vinyasa practice. The rest of the day is given to posture clinics, anatomy workshops, teaching methodology labs, and philosophy discussions. There are also hands-on assist labs, Ayurveda sessions, and a cacao ceremony with mala making. The schedule includes three days off for rest and local exploration.
Dr. Liz Lindh, the lead facilitator, has over 30 years of yoga study and practice and has trained more than 1,200 teachers from nearly 50 countries. She holds a Doctorate in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and teaches in the vinyasa lineage of Krishnamacharya through T.K.V. Desikachar and Shiva Rea. The curriculum is built around her 580-page textbook, and the program includes personalized mentorship and feedback throughout.
The 300-hour program runs alongside a 200-hour cohort, so advanced students share much of the core curriculum while also taking part in specialized coursework, project-based learning, and advanced teaching methodology. Returning to foundational teachings with newer students lets you revisit key concepts with fresh eyes and deepen your ability to teach them.
You'll leave with the skills and certification to teach yoga at an advanced level, but also with a clearer sense of your own practice and place in the yoga tradition. Many students come to refresh their teaching, recover from burnout, or simply immerse themselves in yoga for personal growth—the program is designed to meet you where you are.
