21-Day Andean Yoga Teacher Training and Wellness Immersion in Peru's Sacred Valley

21-Day Andean Yoga Teacher Training and Wellness Immersion in Peru's Sacred Valley

Peru · 21 days · From USD 2749

The training is framed as a journey through the Andean Cosmovision, using the Chakana (Andean Cross) and the medicine wheel as a structure for the four weeks. Each week carries a theme: the South/Earth focuses on roots, community, and purification, and includes a Despacho ceremony with a local shaman and a Temaskal (sweat lodge). The East/Fire centers on purpose and inspiration, with teachings on chakras and Ayurveda woven into asana practice. The West/Water is about freedom, creativity, and manifestation, where you'll bring your skills together for practical teaching work. The North/Air is about transcending limitations and healing, with restorative yoga, Qi Gong, Thai massage, yoga nidra, and breathwork.

Daily asana classes are based on Hatha and Vinyasa, with a strong emphasis on breath and alignment. There is also dedicated instruction in anatomy and physiology, pranayama, teaching methodology, and the philosophy of yoga, drawing on the Bhagavad Gita and the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. In addition to the core curriculum, you'll take part in sound healing, a drum circle, kirtan, and a Flowering of Life coaching session. A San Pedro ceremony is held in the final week, and the course ends with an Agni Hotra (Vedic fire ceremony) as part of the graduation.

The main teacher is Daya, who has been practicing since 2006 and is described as the main yoga teacher in the Sacred Valley for years. David, another lead teacher, is a 500-hour+ YT with training in Vinyasa and Hatha, and he brings in teachings from Peru and Mexico. The small group size—between 2 and 15 participants—means you get close attention and personalized feedback. Alongside the training, there are weekend excursions to local communities, hikes, and visits to sacred sites, which ground the teachings in the landscape itself.
