21-Day Children's Yoga Teacher Training in the South African Countryside

South Africa · 21 days · From USD 1877

The course is called Pathways Academy of Life – 200-Hour Children's Yoga Nidra Teachers Training, and it lives up to the 'Nidra' in the title. Yoga Nidra is the thread that runs through the whole curriculum, blending it with asana, pranayama, meditation, and the philosophy that makes yoga a complete system. You'll work with the subconscious mind throughout — learning how specific words, visualisations and symbolic pictures speak directly to children's inner worlds, helping them release trauma, build concentration and handle the stress and anxiety that's become so common in modern childhood. The training is grounded in Jennifer's own published book, 'Children's Yoga Nidra – The Enlightened Super Soul', which includes 20 scripts designed to double as bedtime stories.

Unlike some YTTs that focus heavily on adults, this course is tailored to the language and needs of children. You'll learn 14 children's songs, explore how to build a safe and joyful class for young ones, and understand the psychological framework that makes yoga effective for their developing minds. The teaching method is direct: you practice what you learn in your own body and mind first, because Jennifer's belief is that self-experience is the heart of any qualification. You'll leave not only with the certification but with a toolkit you can use straight away, including how to host children's yoga retreats.

What makes this training different is the depth of the psychology. You'll study Patanjali's eight limbs and the sutras, the chakras, the five koshas, nadis and kundalini, along with brain-wave states, the art of relaxation, and the mechanics of impressing suggestions on the subconscious. That might sound academic, but it's all taught in a hands-on way, with practice woven through each day. The small group size means questions are welcomed and everyone moves at a pace that suits them. There's no need for prior teaching experience, and even a complete beginner can join — just a willingness to learn and a passion for helping children grow up with healthy minds.

The location itself does a lot of the work. Eston is countryside South Africa — green hills, lakes, fresh air and quiet. You'll wake to views that make you want to be on your mat, and the retreat garden, pool and yoga deck become your daily spaces. It's a genuine escape from city life, which is exactly what you need when you're spending three weeks studying the inner workings of the mind.
